Delmonico

Adopted from the bar of Delmonico’s, a long-famous New York restaurant by bartenders at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel:

• 3/4 ounce gin -- London dry gin
• 1/2 ounce cognac
• 1/2 ounce vermouth -- French vermouth
• 1/2 ounce vermouth -- Italian vermouth
• 2 dashes Bitters -- Angostura bitters

Instructions: Shake well with cracked ice, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a twist of orange peel.
